Series Rules
General Rules:
1. Promoter’s decisions are final.
2. If there are 20 teams or under, it will be 2 full go rounds and a Top 5. If there are 21 teams or more, it will be 1 go, 50% back, and a Top 10.
3. Roughing of cattle will not be permitted. Blatant roughing will result in a no time. Other roughing will result in a 10 second penalty. Roughing may be called by judges or promoter.
4. There will be no spotting (i.e. an outsider giving location, color, or direction of cattle inside the arena). Spotting will result in a no time.
5.Times in 2 go rounds beat times in 1 go round, and times in 3 go rounds beat times in 2 go rounds regardless of number of head penned/sorted.
High Money Awards
1.There will be 3 buckles for the series which begins in February and ends in April. Buckles will be given to the High Point #1 contestant, #2 Contestant and #3 and above contestant.
2.Contestants will receive 1 point for every time they beat. For example if there are 60 teams, the fastest team will receive 59 points, the second place team will receive 58 points, and so on. Points will be given both go rounds, the short go, and the average.
Penning:
1.There will be a time limit of 75 seconds.
2.No more than 4 head of cattle may cross the foul line.
3.The foul line will be set between 40% and 50% of the arena.
Sorting:
1.There will be a time limit of 60 seconds.
2.The nose of the horse breaking the plane begins time, and the nose of the cow stops time.
3.The official will use a lap timer. The nose of the cow will be used for each split of the clock to prevent ties.
4.The Ranch *Bounty Sorting* will be a side pot available for those contestants who wish to enter it. You must sort all ten head in under 40.00 seconds. At each sorting contestants may enter the pot for $5 a contestant. Both contestants must have paid for the Bounty that day. Promoter will receive nothing from this pot. The pot will continue to grow until a paid team sorts in the allotted time!
